Presentation of the report on school transport and lunchroom service

The Síndic de Greuges (Catalan Ombudsman) Rafael Ribó, accompanied by Maria Jesus Larios, Deputy Ombudsman for the Defence of Children's and Adolescents' Rights, will present the special report "On the Provision and Access to School Transport and Lunchroom Services" to Ernest Benach, President of the Parliament of Catalonia, next Thursday, May 6. Following the presentation, a press conference will be held around 1:30 pm to discuss the report's content.

Seminar on access to public information

On May 13 and 14, the Catalan Ombudsman's Office will be holding a seminar entitled "Access to public information: advancements in transparency" at its headquarters. Over the two days of the event, experts and representatives from the various administrations will discuss a variety of topics related to access to Public Information, such as transparency, participation and access, balance and guarantees of privacy and access, the role of new technologies, etc.

Presentation of the annual report to the plenary assembly of Parliament

Next May 12 the Catalan Ombudsman will speak before Parliament on his 2009 annual report. Following the speech, a representative from each parliamentary group will take the floor to express their views on the report.

Personalized service in Castellar del Vallès and Canet de Mar

The trips to these municipalities will be conducted within the framework of the individualized follow-up agreements that the Catalan Ombudsman has signed with these local councils. The personalized attention will be provided in Castellar del Vallès on May 11, and in Canet de Mar on Wednesday, May 19.

Appearance to explain the Code of Administrative Best Practices

Rafael Ribó will appear before the Catalan Ombudsman Committee of Parliament next May 17 to discuss the Code of Administrative Best Practices. This code is a proposal to public administrations from the Catalan Ombudsman, as an institution to which the Statute of Autonomy confers the defence of rights, in order to protect and defend the right to good administration, taken up in Article 30 of the Statute.

The Catalan Ombudsman's office will travel to Salt next Thursday, May 20th to field complaints and queries on administrations.
