The Catalan Ombudsman requires immediate solution for those affected by Bankia shares deriving from Caixa Laietana |
|||
Following a meeting with the mayor of Mataró, Joan Mora, the
Catalan Ombudsman, Rafael Ribó, opened an ex-officio action to look into
the situation. In the resolution of the case, the Catalan Ombudsman

period of three months and ends in the following six months. In obvious
cases of double deceit, the Catalan Ombudman considers that the amount
invested in such shares must be immediately refunded, with the guarantee
of the FROB (Fund for Orderly Bank Restructuring). The Catalan Ombudsman
has informed about the above to the Public Prosecutor's Office for
appropiate action. More information |

The Catalan Ombudman appreciates visible identification of anti-riots police agents |
|||
The
Catalan Ombudsman, yet waiting to receive the details of such decision to
assess them properly, believes this agreement gives a satisfactory
response to the suggestions the institution has been formulating to the
Home Affairs Department on several occasions since 2008. The Catalan
Ombudsman considers this decision is a positive step towards the defence
of citizens' rights and it should be made extensible to other law
enforcement bodies which have not yet adopted the visible identification
in protective vests. More information |
